The primary rainforest of Borneo is under threat!

In the Malaysian state of Sarawak, one of Southeast Asia's last remaining primary rainforests is being ruthlessly cleared – in an officially protected forest area in the middle of a biodiversity hotspot.

Despite international environmental regulations, tropical timber worth over USD 2 million is being transported away from there every month. The indigenous Penan community is affected and is fighting to preserve their forest – with blockades, petitions and a lawsuit in court. Their voices are being ignored.

Behind the destruction is the company Borneoland Timber Resources, whose licence was granted without an environmental assessment.

The Penan people need our support now.
